Contour Retreat
Dalmatian Coast, HR
A terraced landscape and bathing sequence cut into a limestone shoreline.
The project is almost entirely landscape: a series of dry-laid terraces, cisterns, and shaded rooms that follow the contour rather than cutting across it.
Water is the organising material. Rain is collected on every hard surface, held in stone cisterns, and released through the planting during the dry months.
