The practice
A studio
rooted in place
Moss Studio is an architecture and landscape practice of twenty-four people, working between Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Singapore on buildings that are designed to weather well.

Manifesto
A building should be the least interesting thing on the site after twenty years.
We began in a former joinery, working on small houses where the budget went into the structure and the garden. That discipline still governs the practice at thirty storeys.
Biophilic design, for us, is not a surface of planters. It is the decision to let climate, soil, and habitat set the plan — and then to build the frame that makes them legible from the inside.
We work slowly with a small number of clients, prototype at full scale, and stay involved through the first years of occupation to see how the material ages.
The studio measures its work in maintenance schedules, canopy cover, and comfort hours, not in renders. Every project leaves with a care manual.
Values
Material honesty
Nothing is clad to imitate something else. Stone is load-bearing, timber is structure, earth is mass.
Long horizons
We design for the building's second and third life, specifying assemblies that can be repaired by hand.
Quiet luxury
Restraint is the luxury: fewer moves, better made, with silence and daylight treated as materials.
Living systems
Planting is drawn at the same scale as structure, with soil volumes and irrigation resolved in the model.
